On Nov. 6, 2015 Nintendo hosted it’s first Nintendo Direct showcasing new games and trailers.

The direct started off bittersweet as Reggie Fils-aime, President of Nintendo of America, took a moment of silence to commemorate Satoru Iwata, former President of Nintendo who passed away last June. He kicked off the event starting with The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess HD for Wii U. After showing a trailer they announced that, the beloved Wii game is getting a remaster coming out March 4, 2016. Adding to this was a new Midna Amiibo figure that comes with the game in a special edition. junior Nate Robinson said, “Twilight Princess is probably one of my favorite Zelda games so I’m glad to see it back.” To round this off they showed a quick glimpse of the New Legend of Zelda for Wii U, saying it will come in 2016.

Nintendo then moved on to the 3ds presenting new games in a lot of beloved franchises. Keeping with the Legend of Zelda theme Nintendo showcased new Downloadable Content for The Legend of Zelda Triforce Heroes. This content will add new clothes like shirts that can help you in a dungeon and new maps. Secondly they showed off a new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game. They explained that it has a huge open world and you’ll be able to play as over 20 different Pokemon. They ended saying Super Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is coming Nov. 20th! Before leaving Pokemon though, they revealed something people have asked for,for a long time. They confirmed that The original gameboy Pokemon games Red, Blue, and Yellow, were all coming to 3ds. Not only that but, they will have full wifi support so you can trade with your friends. They said it will come out on February 27, 2016. junior Ron Yitzhak said “Now I can play the game easier, not on an old gameboy anymore, which is pretty cool.”

Back to Wii U Nintendo announced what would come in the new Splatoon Update. New multiplayer modes like Tower Control and Rainmaker, as well as a Museum where you can see all the weapons you’ve obtained. They finished saying that they will continue to Update Splatoon at least until next year. Nintendo then moved on to Mario Tennis and Animal Crossing Amiibo festival, giving them new gameplay trailers. Mario Tennis and Amiibo Festival are out on store shelves right now.

Nintendo kept the Wii U train rolling presenting Star Fox Zero, the latest installment in the dogfighting game series. They displayed a new gameplay trailer full of awesome battles and showed a new hacking ability to the ship. They also showed the Wii U gamepad integration as its used to aim and look through the ships cockpit. To end the direct Nintendo wowed everyone with an announcement for Super Smash Bros Wii U. Cloud the main character in Final Fantasy 7, on the PS1 is becoming a fighter. They revealed how he fights with an awesome sword that can cut through the stage, as well as his special moves.

With that great reveal Nintendo ended their Direct. Don’t be too sad though, they said that they’ll have a Smash Bros themed Direct in Late December.
