Paintball Club’s first outing of the year

Paintball+Clubs+first+outing+of+the+year

October 19, 2013 marks Paintball Club’s first outing of the year. The group went to Paintball Explosion in East Dundee which is the site of the old Santa’s Village amusement park.

The facility includes 9, staggering, individual fields to play on making it the most unique facility in Illinois. For anyone who has played Call-of-Duty: Black ops, the latest addition to the facility is a 1 to 1 scale model of the video game’s Nuke Town map. It includes everything that the map does, including: the trademark school bus, and two identical houses for cover during competition.

This field is the most popular field to play on since it’s opening over this past summer break. What is there not to love about about seeing one of your favorite Call-of-Duty maps in real life?

For those who have never played paintball before, paintball is a capture the flag/elimination type of game. The most common game type is elimination. The object of the game is to shoot an opposing player with a paint filled ball. Paintballs are made of a water soluble solution inside of a gelatin capsule. When struck with a paintball, it does sting, but the pain usually goes away by the time you walk off of the field. Paintballs also tend to leave small bruises or welts depending on where you get hit, but that is just something you can show to your friends to show them how well you played. Paintball games can last anywhere from a minute and a half at the professional level to several hours or days for events. It’s a great team bonding activity that is heavily stressed on teamwork.

Paintball club will be hosting a Staff vs. Student’s outing come mid-November to early December which will be dubbed the “Tag McTague” outing because Principal Ryan McTague will be at the event.

Look forward to more information coming late October to both your email’s and also the morning announcements. Paintball Club meets every other Friday in room 1415 and meetings usually last 30-45 minutes. Outings take place once a month and are hosted at various local fields.
