Ever wanted to pilot an X- Wing or drive a landspeeder in Star Wars? Well now you can with the Star Wars Battle Pod Arcade Machine made by Bandai-Namco at Gameworks in Schaumburg.

When you play Star Wars Battle Pod you won’t just be playing a normal cabinet machine. You’ll step inside a huge dome with an almost 360 degree screen, surround sound, and seat vibration. Once you’ve sat down you’ll be faced with two controls. Your thruster, which you use to control your vehicles speed, and a joystick which you use to shoot incoming hostiles.

In Star Wars Battle Pod there are five levels each with their own interesting objectives and missions. If you complete a level all the way through it should take you about five minutes but I suggest you try to play every level to really get the full experience. From a ship battle above Hoth, to taking out a AT-ST on Endor, and even playing through taking out the Death Star, there’s a lot to love about Battle Pod. Playing it is really exhilarating, when you hear that epic Star Wars score hit as you take out a Tie-Fighter and Han says “good job” you’ll feel like you’re immersed in the universe of Star Wars.

When speaking with Polygon  John McKenzie, president of Bandai Namco Amusement America and Europe said, “When you go into an arcade you need something that delivers an experience you can’t get at home.”

If you want to try Star Wars Battle Pod you can go to Gameworks in Schaumburg, or If you’ve got the money you can buy a home version for yourself at the cost of $35,000.
