“The Intern” does a great job

On Sept. 25, 2015, “The Intern” came out in movie theaters. It ranked #2 in box office sales during its first week. For readers who are wondering if they should see it, here’s a snippet of what will come your way as well as my opinion of it.

In a nutshell, “The Intern” is about a retired businessman who becomes a senior intern at an online fashion site in Brooklyn.

Ben Whittaker, played by Robert DeNiro, is bored of the retired life, and feeling the need to do something during the day that’s consistent, he becomes a senior intern at ‘About the Fit’, a fashion website created by Jules Ostin, played by Anne Hathaway. Ben is assigned to be Jules’ personal intern for at least six weeks. “The Intern” shows interactions between Ben and Jules as well as Jules’ family.

“The Intern” was a great movie. What I liked most about the movie was how well it flowed. There wasn’t a scene that was irrelevant to the rest of the movie.

I also really enjoyed the acting, as well as the choice of actors for the roles. DeNiro was a great pick as Ben; he’s been in multiple comedies in the past few years, which is definitely a change from earlier in his career. I feel like that definitely helped. Hathaway was a great fit for Jules; she’s a powerful actor with flexibility when it comes to genre. This role for her seemed like a little bit of the opposite of her role in “The Devil Wears Prada,” which I found nice. It proved how flexible Hathaway is when it comes to the roles she plays.

“The Intern” was filled with laughs throughout the movie, which definitely helped grab and keep viewers attention.

Overall, “The Intern” was an excellent movie filled with laughs and emotion. I highly recommend it if you enjoy comedy and family movies. Warning: there is crude humor in this movie.
