Teammates, family, friends, teachers and coaches all gathered Thursday morning, May 17, to send outstanding senior track & field athletes Dianna Edmond and Annemarie Reid to State.
Pole vaulter Reid and discus thrower Edmond were heading to Eastern Illinois University to compete in the State girls track meet.
Reid, who also qualified for State last year, cleared 11′ 3″ to become the sectional champion in the pole vault. (She started on the pole vault just last year.) Edmond placed second at the sectional meet by throwing the discus 105′.
UPDATE: Annemarie Reid placed number 11 in State for the pole vault.
