Guide to a delightful late start

Guide+to+a+delightful+late+start

Want something fun to do on a late start? Tomorrow, Nov. 5, 2015, we will have a late start and begin school at 9:40 a.m.

Starting school a few hours later than normal is a great opportunity to add something special to your morning.  There are several ways to have fun, whether it be with friends or with yourself.

iHop:

Hop on the bandwagon to the International House of Pancakes or the iHop. You can always catch a handful of Niles North students dining at the iHop on late starts. This restaurant is the most accessible breakfast place for students because it is only a 10 minute walk from school or two minute drive.  You can treat yourself with a variety of pancakes, crepes, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, etc.

“iHop is my favorite place to be on a late start because I can get together with friends and maybe even do some homework.  Even though I’m not a morning person, iHop is worth waking up for,” Vianey Toscano said.

Bike to school:

Want to feel refreshed and ready for a great day?  One way to get your blood pumping on a late start is riding bikes with friends, family, or even by yourself.  Bike riding is known to be the second fastest way of transportation and eco-friendly. There’s no better way to get to school than biking this fall.

“During the summer I used to bike everywhere, it was my only way of transportation.  If you want to be productive and exercise, bike riding is the easy route to go,” senior Ethan Lee said.

Homemade breakfast with friends:

Never have enough time after school to catch up with friends?  Late starts are a great time to get together with your friends and cook breakfast together.  Spice it up by trying a recipe that you’ve never tried before.

“I think that being with my friends during my free time is the best because I don’t really have that much time anymore with all of the college applications and school work.  So late start would be a good time to hang out, even if it’s just for an hour,” senior Sam Manaloto said.

With these suggestions in mind, enjoy this late start.
