Friday, January 24, the boys swimming and diving team held their Senior Night at home against Maine West High School. The Vikings dominated the Maine West Warriors.
The Vikings experienced a two level victory on this memorable night. The junior varsity team finished with a total of 91 points to Maine West’s 85. The varsity team swam hard and ended the night off with a commendable 112 points to the Warrior’s 73.
The boys celebrated seniors Ricky Torres, Mark Maatouk, Ben Kuznetz-Speck, Dimitar Kirilov, Mateo Ruiz, David Goodwin, Theodore Ward, Emre Erel, and Nick Aviles on this evening. The season is far from over however, as the team is beginning to prepare for their competition season.
Going into conference as three year champions, the team has a lot to live up to, and plan on repeating their success. Conference will be held at Niles North High School this season.
This Friday, Feb. 14 at 6pm and Saturday, Feb 15 at 1pm are junior varsity and varsity conference, respectively. Niles North is proud to host both these events. Come support your Vikings as they swim hard to repeat their previous conference success.
