It’s a very anticipated weekend for our Niles North scientists this weekend. Students enrolled in the SIRS scientific and research class will be presenting their various scientific research projects and will be evaluated based on their research. Niles North, Niles West, and Stevenson High School will be participating in this event.

Research based on water purification to testing DNA and cells are just some of the various projects that will be presented at the fair.

“Like always, our students have been working hard and they all put in the time and effort in their research and I know they will they do great. The fun thing about the science fair is you always see so many great projects and the outcome of it is just fascinating. This year will definitely be an interesting year,” said biology and SIRS teacher, Richard Thielsan.

“This is going to be the most intense and competitive science fair because there are so many great projects. I’m really looking forward to this great event,” sophomore Angela Martin said.

“All I have to say is that this year was very stressful and hard, but at the end we made it and the all the hard work put in the projects did pay off,” senior Raisa Salik said.

The science fair will be held in the field house at Niles North High School. The event will start at 8 a.m. and the award ceremony will be held at 2 p.m.
